Adjustable Brightness

Some reading materials will reflect the light while others will absorb it. This can damage contrast and create uncomfortable glare unless you have personal control of the light output.

Having the ability to adjust the brightness of the light beam projected on to the page to match the ambient conditions is important to get the best possible contrast and help you read in more comfort for longer.

More Light on Your Page

Each of the three Serious Light ranges project between 4 and 10x more light on to your page than a traditional 60w filament bulb.

The High Definition Light is our brightest light, offering 10x more light on your page. It is our closest light to natural daylight, recommended for eye conditions and any hobbies of which colour is a key component. The Alex Light offers 6x, and the Classic Light 4x the brightness.

How do I choose the right light?

Serious Lights use specialist technology to shine daylight indoors, projecting a warm white beam of 3,500-4,000K that is kinder to the indoor eye. We have found after decades of user feedback that this is the optimum specification to allow you to read in comfort for longer.

The High Definition and Alex Lights both enjoy an integrated dimmer function as standard, with the Classic Light offering an optional dimmer for a supplementary fee.
