About Independents Day
Independent practitioners are ophthalmic professionals first but also need to operate in an increasingly tough commercial environment. In order to survive to be able to provide their clinical skills they need to operate sound business practice in equal measure. Independents Day recognises this difficult combination of skills and, in response to delegate feedback, has developed from a mixture of clinical and commercial content to become purely business focused.
The event's success - it has averaged 175 delegates the last 4 years - is not only due to its excellent content but also the format of presentations. Typically lectures are shorter than usual and most importantly get to the point; they generally contain very useful tips and ideas from people who have ‘walked the talk’. These ‘pearls’ can be quickly and easily implemented, at little or no cost, for immediate impact in the practice.
