HD Original Reading Lights
You have probably tried brighter bulbs, new glasses, and moving the chair closer to the window. If none of it quite worked, the problem may not be your eyes. It may be the light itself. Switch on an HD Original and small print becomes clear, colours look right again, and for many readers the evening strain simply stops. Recommended by more than 500 opticians, with a 90-day home trial. 99.4% of people keep theirs.

What if the problem is not your eyes?
-
It is probably the light
Most lamps use a blue LED chip that cannot reproduce the full visible spectrum. The wavelengths your eyes rely on most for reading are simply not there, so your brain fills in what is missing. That effort is why reading feels harder by evening.
The HD Original uses a purple chip that reconstructs every wavelength of natural daylight. On the standard measure of colour rendering, where sunlight scores 100, the HD Original scores 98. A typical household LED rarely gets above 80. The result is light that feels natural rather than artificial. Small print sharpens, colours look right, and for many readers the fatigue that used to build through the evening stops coming.

Trusted by people who need light to be right
If your optician has mentioned Serious Readers, this is the light they mean. More than 500 independent opticians recommend our lights to their patients, including people who find reading harder than it used to be. Our lights have also been found in the Van Gogh Museum, the British Museum, and in operating theatres.
You would not be the first person to try one on your optician's advice.

Built to be the last reading light you buy
For over forty years, our Aylesbury workshop has done nothing but build reading lights. Roughly 50 a day. That single-mindedness is why the arm on your light is guaranteed for life, the light engine for five years, and every detail from the slow-start circuitry to the air-cooled head has been considered and reconsidered until nothing is left to chance.
That is what forty years of building one thing looks like.

You do not have to be sure
Most people who buy this light were not sure either. That is why we give you 90 days at home with it, not 14. If it does not change the way you read, call us and we arrange collection from your door.
99.4% of people keep theirs. The ones who were not sure tend to be the most vocal about it afterwards.
