Do both dim?
Yes. The Essential uses press-and-hold dimming. The Pro has a tactile thumbwheel that is smooth and stepless. You can feel exactly where you are and dial in the brightness your eyes want. It remembers your last setting.
What colour is the light?
Both lights produce 4,000K natural daylight, which is a clean, balanced white. It is not blue, not yellow, and not harsh. The Pro also accepts optional chromatic filters if you prefer a warmer tone.
Does it flicker?
No. Zero flicker at any brightness level. Both lights use constant-current drivers, so the output is completely steady. Many people who are sensitive to flicker from screens or fluorescent tubes notice the difference straight away.
Is the light harsh or glaring?
No. Both lights are fully dimmable, so you set the level your eyes want. The Pro also accepts optional comfort filters that soften the beam further. The light falls on the page, not in your eyes.

How big is it?
The floor lights stand 144-152cm tall and tuck behind a chair or beside a sofa. The table lights are 64-71cm and sit on a desk, side table or bedside. Weight depends on the model: the lightest table light is 2.2kg, the heaviest floor light is 6kg, and the Pro Floor is 4.8kg. Both have a small footprint and the flexible arm means you can position the head exactly where you need it.
Is it easy to set up?
The Essential arrives fully built and ready to use. The HD Pro comes in two parts: the base and the light. You screw them together by hand in seconds. No tools needed.
Can I replace the bulb myself?
Yes. The Essential bulb pulls out and a replacement pushes in. The HD Pro uses a light engine with a quick magnetic release, just as easy to swap. The HD Pro light engine is guaranteed for 5 years and the Essential bulb for 3 years. After that, replacements are available directly from us.
Is it expensive to run?
No. Both lights use between 6 and 7 watts. That is roughly a tenth of what a traditional 60W bulb uses. You could leave it on all evening for pennies.

What is included as standard?
The HD Essential arrives fully assembled with a mains power cable and bulb fitted. The HD Pro arrives in two parts: the base and the light. You screw them together by hand in seconds. No tools needed. The Essential comes with its bulb fitted. The Pro includes its light engine. Accessories such as the cordless battery, remote handset and diffuser lens are sold separately.
How quickly will it arrive?
UK mainland delivery is usually within 5 working days via DHL. You can choose your delivery date at checkout. Delivery is £12.95.
Will the courier bring it into the house?
Delivery is by DHL to your door. The courier will leave the parcel with you at the doorstep. The box is manageable: the heaviest light is 6kg.
If you change your mind
What if I don't get on with it?
30 days to try the Essential, 90 days for the HD Pro. If it is not right, we will collect it from your door and give you a full refund, including delivery. Please keep the original packaging. We arrange collection at a time that suits you. Refunds are processed once we receive the item and confirm it is in good order. You can also swap for a different model if you would prefer.
Do I need to keep the box for returns?
Yes, please keep the original packaging. You will need it if you decide to return or swap the light. We arrange a courier collection at a time that suits you, so you do not need to take it anywhere.
What is the warranty?
Both lights carry a full 5-year warranty. The HD Pro light engine is guaranteed for 5 years. The Essential bulb for 3 years. After that, replacements are available directly from us. Both swap out easily by hand in seconds.
What if I buy the Essential and wish I had gone for the Pro?
You can swap within your trial period. Call us and we will arrange it. Many people do upgrade, and we make it straightforward.
