A Serious Light head lighting a chart that compares the colour fidelity of Daylight Wavelength Technology™ with ordinary LEDs

Colours you choose by lamplight should still match in the morning.

An ordinary LED is short of the deep reds, so paints, threads and papers chosen under it can look different by the window the next day.

Daylight Wavelength Technology™ reproduces daylight with 98% accuracy, so the colours you see at night are close to the ones you see in daylight.

See what better light does for you

Work close without your hands casting a shadow.

Stand the light on the side you do not work with and bring the head in from above, so your hands are lit from the side and never block the beam.

The arm holds any angle without drooping, so the light stays exactly where you put it.

My lamp is a vital part of my life, not just for reading, but for craft projects.

Made for precise work, and backed by a five-year warranty.

The specialist components in a single HD Original cost more to manufacture than many entire lamps sell for. That is where the price goes.

The HD Original and the HD Essential are hand-built in Aylesbury, and all three come with a five-year warranty and our team’s help with advice and repairs. Each one is made as a reliable tool for people who want the best light they can have.

What people ask about lights for craft.

Will it cast a shadow over my hands?

Not if the light comes in from the side rather than straight above. Stand it on the side you do not work with and bring the head over, and your hands are lit rather than silhouetted.

Will colours look the same in daylight?

They will look very close to it. Daylight Wavelength Technology™ scores 98 out of 100 for colour accuracy, where daylight scores 100.

Does it magnify?

No. None of the Serious Lights has a magnifier built in, so if you use one now you keep using it alongside the light. What better light can change is how much you pick out without one.

Why does a Serious Light cost more than an ordinary lamp?

Because of what is inside it. The specialist components in a single HD Original cost more to make than many complete lamps sell for, and all three lights come with a five-year warranty.

What if it is not right for me?

Try it at home first. The HD Original and the HD Pro have a 90-day home trial and the HD Essential has 30 days, and if it is not right for you we collect it free from any UK mainland address.

How the home trial works

Try it on your next project at home for up to 90 days.

Use it for a few weeks of your usual work and check the colours by day.
