Final Stock Clearance 2026 · Code SEPT67

Which room in your house still has the wrong light in it?

You already know what one of our lights does in the chair you read in. Until 31st October I have put clearance prices across the 2026 collection while we get ready for winter. Several models will still be here next year, but these prices will not, so if another room could do with the same light, now is the time to sort it.

Which room could do with the same light?

The second one is usually the easy decision, because the argument has already been settled in the room you bought the first for. What owners write to tell us is that it changes where they can sit and what they can get done there. These are the three changes they name most.

Small print is readable in more than one chair.

The medicine bottle, the footnotes, your bank statement, all readable at arm's length in whichever room you are sitting in. One turn of the ring takes the beam from fine print to a full newspaper, at up to 7,200 lux.

You read as long in November as you do in June.

An evening in November asks no more of your eyes than a bright morning in June, because what lands on your page is the same at both. Nine at night is as good a time to start a chapter as nine in the morning.

You can cook, sew and see what colour something really is.

The kitchen, the sewing table and the mirror all ask you to see detail, and most rooms are lit for atmosphere instead. Dim it to the level that suits your eyes and it holds that setting for next time.

The difference the right light makes.

Your eyes can tell apart something like ten million shades, and that is how you get colour, depth, contrast and detail. What you actually see of it depends on the light falling on the page. Most artificial light gives you only part of the spectrum, heavy on blue and short of red, so print flattens and colours drain. Daylight has no gaps in it, which is why reading by a window on a clear morning is easy, and Daylight Wavelength Technology™ rebuilds that spectrum at 98% accuracy.

Customers living with AMD and cataracts tell us print looks sharper and higher in contrast under one. The home trial lets you check that against your own eyes.

Built to be the best, not the cheapest.

We aim to build the best reading lights you can buy rather than the cheapest: a high-grade, reliable tool for people who need or want the best light they can have. Nothing is priced for show.

Our lights have been chosen for professional settings, from the British Museum to operating theatres and the Heathrow control tower, and the philatelists at Stanley Gibbons grade their stamps under them. A warranty is only worth the company standing behind it, and ours has been building and repairing these lights for forty years.

A five-year warranty on the light, with a replaceable light engine inside it.

A lifetime warranty on the arm. It holds where you put it, for good.

The HD Original is hand-built in Great Britain and arrives fully assembled. The HD Pro is designed here and goes together in under 30 seconds. When something goes wrong, we repair it or we replace it.

What opticians tell their patients.

In the UK we work with 472 optical practices, and more than 500 independent opticians recommend a Serious Light to their patients. These five say why.

Lighting has a huge impact on our ability to see. Serious Readers lights are well designed, simple to use, and provide accurate colour and detail representation.

What owners tell us.

From more than 10,000 five-star reviews.

My aim is to have one of your lights in every room in the house where reading of any sort might possibly take place.
Mrs Parsons, Worcestershire
Rated five stars.

“The difference it has made is remarkable and will be even better when the darker nights come back.”

Miss Stafford, Belfast

Rated five stars.

“It makes my other lights look yellow and dimmer. How nice to be able to read in such marvellous light.”

Mr McDowall, Surrey

Rated five stars.

“I have gone from someone with sore aching eyes after a couple of pages to being able to read as much as I wish.”

Mr Brewster, Edinburgh

Lighting is vital, and your High Definition Light is by far the best light I have ever used in my 40 years of engraving. I use it from the moment I sit down at my engraving area.

Before you order.

A few straight answers, starting with the one we are asked most.

I already have one. Should the second be the same light?

Most owners buy the same light again, because they already know how it behaves and they want the room to feel the same. The HD Original is the one most people choose for that reason.

Choose the HD Pro instead if the new room would suit a remote handset by your chair, or if you want it running on its own battery. It also weighs less than the heavyweight HD Original while standing more firmly, which matters if the light will be moved about.

Should I choose the floor light or the table light?

It depends on the chair. A floor light stands beside you and brings the beam down over your shoulder, which suits an armchair or a sofa with nothing next to it, and it leaves the surface you already have free.

Where there is a side table at about elbow height, a table light does the same job from a lower start. Both carry the same daylight, so choose by where you sit.

Why are the prices lower right now?

This is the Final Stock Clearance for 2026, so we are clearing the year's collection as we get ready for winter. These are current lights, brand new and boxed, rather than seconds or old stock, and they carry the same warranty as they would at full price.

Black is selling quickest, and when the stock for a finish is gone it is gone, whatever the date says.

Will it help with macular degeneration or cataracts?

Our lights are not medical devices, and we would not claim otherwise. What they do is put far more usable light on your page, at a colour accuracy of 98%.

Beyond that we would rather let your own eyes settle it than tell you what to expect, which is what the home trial is for. Our advisers talk to people living with AMD and cataracts every day, so if you want to know what others have found, ring them and ask.

How long does delivery take?

UK delivery takes five to seven working days by tracked courier, and it is free on every order of £74.99 and above.

The HD Original arrives fully built. The HD Pro assembles in under 30 seconds, with one hand-tightened connection and no tools. Either way you plug it in and read the same evening.

The only real test is your own chair, which is why the trial exists. Read under one for 90 days, and if it is not for you we collect it from any UK mainland address and refund you in full.

How to order.

1

Order online or by phone.

Quote SEPT67 in the promotion code box at checkout, or call free on 0800 032 9364 between 8:30am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, and an adviser will help you find the right light. You can also post your order to FREEPOST Serious Readers.

2

It arrives ready to use.

Free tracked courier in five to seven working days, worth £12.95. The HD Original arrives fully built, so you plug it in and read the same evening.

3

You have 90 days to decide.

Read by it in the new room, through your own books, and judge it against the light it replaced. If it is not for you, one phone call arranges free collection from any UK mainland address and a full refund.

The Final Stock Clearance ends on 31st October.

The reason to put a second light in is the difference it makes to the room you sit in. The price is what makes now the time: up to half price with code SEPT67, at checkout or by phone. Several models will still be here next year, but these prices will not, and they end earlier if our stock runs out.
