Is fine work at your desk hard going?

It does not have to be. Fine work needs bright light with every colour in it, and the HD Pro gives you both, so fine stitches are clear.

See what ordinary light leaves behind.

An ordinary LED only looks white. It starts with a blue chip, so its light carries a spike of blue and too little of the other colours, especially red. The HD Pro's Daylight Wavelength Technology™ fills those gaps, so you work by the full spectrum of daylight.

That is why reading by a window on a clear morning is so easy, and the HD Pro gives you that light at any hour. Colours look true, fine detail is easier to pick out, and with no flicker the light stays steady for as long as you read.

Two measured spectra: an ordinary LED spiking hard in the blue at 452 nanometres then falling away with little deep red, and the HD Pro spreading smoothly across the whole visible range with its highest output in the orange and red. A strong blue spike and too little red. The full spectrum of daylight.

Daylight scores 100 for colour accuracy. On deep reds, the HD Pro scores 92 and the ordinary LED we measured scores 40.

Every HD Pro is made from 224 specially designed parts by 85 engineers and technicians, and we build no more than five a day. Each one is tested for 48 hours and checked over by hand before it comes to you.

Because it is modular, you can add the cordless battery and the remote whenever you like, and key parts can be serviced or replaced at home.

What makes it different from an ordinary reading lamp?

It gives you the full spectrum of daylight and scores 98 out of 100 for colour accuracy, where daylight scores 100, so colours look true and similar shades are easy to tell apart. It puts up to 12x more light on your page than a 60W bulb, instead of spreading it around the room, so small print is sharper. And you set the beam and the brightness to suit your eyes and whatever you are doing.

Will I really notice the difference?

Most people notice it the first time they switch it on: the light lands where they are looking and the print is easier to make out. 99.4% of the people who try one keep it for the difference it makes.

Is it a lot of money for a lamp?

How the home trial works
Will it help if my room is already bright?

It can. Even in a bright room your book can be in shadow, and the HD Pro puts full-spectrum daylight straight onto your page, which is where your eyes need it.

How long will it last?

It will last you for years. The five-year warranty covers the light and its light engine, and the arm is guaranteed for life.

Can I use it away from a socket?

Yes, with the optional battery, which gives you about six and a half hours of full-strength light on a charge and recharges in 90 minutes. You can order it with your light or add it later.

When will it arrive?

It usually arrives within 2 to 3 working days by DHL to a UK mainland address, in two parts that go together in under 30 seconds with no tools. Non-mainland UK addresses usually take up to 10 working days. Outside the UK, add your address at the checkout to see the delivery charge.

How is the HD Pro different from the HD Original?

It has the same light and controls as the HD Original, and you can add a battery and a remote to it whenever you like.
