Serious Readers 'Refer a Friend' Terms & Conditions

Definitions

"Serious Readers" refers to Serious Brands Limited, trading as Serious Readers.
'Referrer" means an existing Serious Readers customer who has directly purchased a Serious Light from Serious Readers and refers new customers.
"Referred Friend" is a new customer who has never previously made a purchase from Serious Readers and uses the referral code provided by the Referrer.
"Reward" is the promotional gift provided by Serious Readers to the Referrer upon meeting all conditions specified herein.
"High Definition Light" refers specifically to the High Definition Light product line offered by Serious Readers.

Eligibility
The Serious Readers "Refer a Friend" programme ("Programme") is exclusively open to existing Serious Readers customers who have directly purchased a Serious Light from Serious Readers. Commercial buyers, resellers, or secondary market purchasers are explicitly excluded from participation.

Participation constitutes explicit acceptance of these Terms & Conditions by both the Referrer and the Referred Friend.

How the Programme Works
The Referrer shares their unique referral code with a friend who has never previously purchased from Serious Readers.

The Referred Friend must apply the referral code at the point of purchase to receive £150 off a High Definition Light. Referral discounts cannot be retrospectively applied once the order is placed, nor can they be combined with any other offers.

Upon successful completion of the Referred Friend’s 30-day trial period, provided the purchased High Definition Light has been retained and not returned or refunded, the Referrer becomes eligible to claim a Reward.

To claim a Reward, the Referrer must proactively contact Serious Readers' customer service team within 90 days following the conclusion of the friend's trial period. Claims submitted beyond this 90-day period will be automatically refused.

Referral Reward Conditions
Referral Rewards are strictly limited to one Reward per unique Referred Friend, per household, and per delivery address, irrespective of the quantity of lights ordered.

Each referral order qualifies for only one Reward claim, regardless of multiple referral codes used, simultaneous or sequential purchases, or the number of items purchased.

Subsequent or additional purchases by a previously Referred Friend do not qualify as new referrals or additional Reward opportunities.

Rewards are strictly limited to a maximum of three (3) Reward claims per Referrer account throughout the lifetime of that account. Attempts to circumvent this limit using multiple accounts, identities, households, or addresses will result in immediate disqualification, Reward revocation, and possible account termination.

Referral Rewards are strictly non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash, credit, or any alternative form of compensation.

The specific Reward item is determined exclusively by Serious Readers, based on availability, and will always have a retail value of £149.99. Requests for specific items, substitutions, upgrades, or alternative gifts will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Exclusions & Limitations
Referral discounts and Rewards cannot be combined or used in conjunction with any other discounts, promotions, voucher codes, or special offers.

If the Referred Friend returns, exchanges, cancels their order, initiates a refund, or otherwise disputes their purchase at any time during or after the 30-day trial period, the Referrer immediately forfeits all eligibility for the associated Reward.

Serious Readers reserves the absolute right to investigate and void referrals or Reward claims suspected of fraud, abuse, manipulation, technical malfunction, errors, or violations of these Terms & Conditions. Penalties may include Reward revocation, account suspension, permanent exclusion from future promotions, and/or legal action.

Limited-Time Offer & Availability
The Programme is available for a limited time and will initially conclude on 31st July 2025. Serious Readers reserves the right to extend or shorten this period at its absolute discretion.

The Programme may be withdrawn or terminated without notice, particularly in cases of Reward stock exhaustion or unforeseen circumstances.

Claiming Your Reward
To claim your Reward, contact Serious Readers’ customer service directly within 90 days of becoming eligible. Failure to adhere to this deadline will result in automatic forfeiture of the Reward claim.

Modification or Termination of the Programme
Serious Readers reserves the unconditional right to modify, suspend, terminate, or amend this Programme or these Terms & Conditions at any time without notice. Any changes will become effective immediately upon publication on the Serious Readers website. Continued participation after modifications signifies explicit acceptance of such changes.

Liability & Indemnification
Serious Readers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages arising from or related to participation in this Programme. Participants agree to indemnify Serious Readers against any claim or action arising directly or indirectly from breach of these Terms & Conditions.

Data Protection and Privacy
Personal data collected in the referral process will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. By participating, Referrers and Referred Friends acknowledge and consent to Serious Readers processing their personal data in compliance with Serious Readers’ Privacy Policy, available on the Serious Readers website.

Entire Agreement
These Terms & Conditions represent the entire agreement between Serious Readers and Programme participants, superseding all previous communications, representations, understandings, or agreements, whether written or oral, concerning the Programme.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Participants irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales regarding any dispute or claim arising from these Terms & Conditions or the Programme.
