LOOK AFTER YOUR EYES
By the age of sixty you are likely to need more than three times as much light for reading as you did in your youth.
It is unfortunately an inescapable fact that our eyes age alongside our other essential body parts, like our joints for example. This means that the 20/20 vision that you may have once enjoyed in your youth inevitably degrades over time. Infact your eyesight is prone to a number of age-related conditions which is why it is so important to seek the regular advice of an eye-care professional.
We offer a number of aids which can assist you and make it easier for you to see and concentrate for longer and in more comfort. All opticians will advise for example that appropriate lighting is an essential ingredient in any low vision solution.
There are many groups and professionals able to help if you feel you may be suffering from a problem with your eyesight. Click on the following links to route to resources there to offer help with different conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, nystagmus, and retinitis.
For more general information on how best to cope with the symptoms of low vision try either the RNIB or Action for Blind People websites. There is no substitute for regular eye examinations.
